An introduction to Grid
Grid is the world’s most comprehensive risk database of adverse media, sanctions, watchlists, and politically exposed persons. Risk information is curated into detailed profiles by individual or organization, so you can see all associated, risk-relevant data in structured and detailed reports.
With Grid, it's easy to conduct effective screening and ongoing risk monitoring. The combination of powerful data and categorizations means you can filter information by risk type, risk stage, and risk age based on relevance and your own risk profiles.
How Grid works
For firms screening names against the Grid database on the Moody's platform:
Your firm submits inquiries for screening using the Moody's easy-to-use web interface, proprietary secure batch file transfer, or API services.
Inquiries are matched against the Grid database. Name-matching rules and algorithms, scoring, and firm-specific filters are applied, and potential match results are determined.
Initial results may then be sent to optional add-on services, such as Grid AI Review or Analyst Review, to conduct additional analysis and eliminate false positives based on a firm's individual discounting requirements.
If either of these services are configured for your firm, they occur before a response is sent to the Client Alert Decisioning add-on workflow or your firm's final screening destination.
If your firm is configured for Client Alert Decisioning, a firm’s compliance team determines if potentially matching Grid record details should be included in an inquiry’s final results set.
This step occurs after the Grid AI Review or Analyst Review services are completed and before a response is sent to your firm's solution.
If matches are found, alerts are generated and delivered to firms by email, web, or SFTP. Historical results of batches and alerts can be viewed online.
