The Moody's name matching engine has a degree of transliteration support for most common scripts. The search is transliterated to Latin script and then run through the search process against corresponding names.

Common scripts supported by the engine include:

  • Latin-based scripts: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, and Vietnamese

  • Japanese Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji

  • Korean Hangul

  • Arabic

  • Greek

  • Turkish

  • Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese

  • Devanagari

  • Russian Cyrillic

Note

Profiles built from non-Latin script sources always feature a Latin script transliteration in the Name field of the profile, with the local script name captured in the Alias field.
