Configuring Intelli idbox

Intelli idbox is a data provider you can use to run a Document verification (service collects multiple) check.

How it works

The following is the default behavior for a variant of the Document verification (service collects multiple) check with Intelli idbox as the data provider.

Passfort sends a request to Intelli idbox to start the onboarding flow. The individual’s first name, last name, and phone number are always included in the request. If the individual's date of birth, gender, nationality, address history, and customer reference number are available, they're also included in the request. Passfort displays a message on the task saying the check is in progress. The check can remain in progress for up to seven days before it times out.

Intelli idbox sends an SMS to the customer with a link to access the Intelli idbox portal. Once in the portal, the customer follows the flow to manually submit one proof of address document and/or one proof of identity document. Depending on the flow configured in Intelli idbox, the customer may also be asked to submit a selfie or have a videocall with a qualified agent from Intelli idbox.

Intelli idbox checks for signs of forgery and extracts any relevant data. The individual’s name is always extracted. Where possible, the following information is also extracted: document number, document issue date, document expiration date, document issue country, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, address, father's first name, and tenant's name.

When the process is complete, Intelli idbox sends all documents and extracted data to Passfort.

If Passfort successfully receives any documents from Intelli idbox, valid or invalid, both the Verify identity and Verify address tasks are marked as complete. If Passfort doesn’t receive any documents, the check result is failed.

If a proof of identity document is returned, Passfort displays an image of this document and its extracted data on the Verify identity task. If Intelli idbox confirms the document is valid and the extracted data matches Passfort's profile data, the proof of identity document result is passed and, if the check is configured as an acceptance check, the task is also passed. If the document isn’t valid or the extracted data doesn’t match, the document result is failed.

An error is displayed when the individual doesn’t have data for the required fields, if there's a technical issue running the check, or if the data provider doesn't return the documents after seven days.

Testing your configuration

Once the check variant is configured, follow these steps in your demo environment to test whether it's working as expected.

  • When Intelli idbox returns documents for the Verify address task and the Verify identity task, is the check result marked as completed?

    Create an individual profile named Alex Wheeler with any phone number and any email address. If the check result on both tasks is marked as completed on both tasks and both tasks have a document result, it's working as expected.

  • When Intelli idbox only returns a document for the Verify address task, is the check result marked as completed?

    Create an individual profile named Sam Floren with any phone number and any email address. If the check result on both tasks is marked as completed but only the Verify address task has a document result, it's working as expected.

  • When Intelli idbox only returns a document for the Verify identity task, is the check result completed?

    Create an individual profile named Blake Carr with any phone number and any email address. If the check result on both tasks is marked as completed but only the Verify identity task has a document result, it's working as expected.

  • Is an error returned when invalid Intelli idbox credentials are used in your Passfort configuration?

    Create an individual profile named Ren Tanaka with any phone number and any email address. If both the Verify address and Verify identity tasks have an error that says ERROR_INVALID_CREDENTIALS, it's working as expected.

  • Is an error returned when Passfort is unable to establish a connection to Intelli idbox?

    Create an individual profile named Ania Nowak with any phone number and any email address. If both the Verify address and the Verify identity tasks have an error that says ERROR_CONNECTION_TO_PROVIDER, it's working as expected.

  • Is an error returned when Intelli idbox is unable to complete the check for any other reason?

    Create an individual profile named Elizabeth Morris with any phone number and any email address. If both the Verify address and the Verify identity tasks have an error that says ERROR_ANY_PROVIDER_MESSAGE, it's working as expected.

You can also see what happens with the document results when all the extracted data matches by including all of the required profile fields. Equally, you can see what happens when some of the extracted data doesn't match by deliberately leaving some required profile fields blank.
