Grid iLists
Grid Intelligent List, or iList, is an all-inclusive restricted, unrestricted, and country list screening solution with integrated match rules that define whether entities should be allowed or blocked under certain conditions.
In addition to custom, firm, defined lists, discussed below, a standard iList collection is also available from Moody's.
iList rules
iList logic is founded on configurable, rule-based, matching, and country screening. iList lists can contain subjects, such as persons and/or organizations, or countries:
Person: Inquiry name is searched using the Grid person search engine. False positives are filtered out using the iList Match Rules defined in the firm's iList Rule Profile.
Organizational Search: Inquiry name is searched using the Grid organization search engine. False positives are filtered out using the iList Match Rules defined in the firm's iList Rule Profile.
Country: Country searches are performed against the country and customer inquiry submitted. False positives are filtered out using the iList Match Rules defined in the firm's iList Rule Profile. Country matches are returned only when they are exact matches.
An iList rule profile contains the matching rules for each list. Each profile has a unique name and contains two matching rules:
iList Match Content Rule - IMC Rule: Contains the name matching rules for the incoming iList inquiry. IMC Rule expressions allow firms to define the firing of rules based on name matching scores.
Grid Match Content Rule - GMC Rule: Contains the rules for the actual matched Grid content and sets the rules for which content and risk codes trigger a match.
iList matching process
Once an iList is created, loaded with entries, and assigned to a firm, searches on list entries begin the following business day.
When an inquiry name is submitted for screening, that name is compared to the iLists applied to the firm. If there is a match, the configuration rules dictate the actions that follow:
Is the match alertable? If an iList is alertable/restricted list, matches based on the IMC Rules are included in the results and presented back to users to decide if the match should be alerted or not matched.
Is the match not alertable? If the iList is not an alertable/unrestricted list and an inquiry name matches the iList, any matches for that inquiry are suppressed unless there are conditional rules that allow certain risk events to generate matches on iList names. For example, there may be Grid rules that restrict matches entirely or alert if certain criteria are met.
Implementation
iList implementation requires initial assistance from Moody's to create and deploy lists.
Each list is managed and fed by a single management firm. They can be utilized and linked to one or more firms associated with that account/management firm.
After an iList is created, deployed, and provisioned to a firm, it can be updated as often as needed via SFTP automation or through the Grid user interface with the standard spreadsheet upload operation.
iList compatibility
iList functionality is compatible with the following Grid screening solutions:
Grid full screening
Grid Analyst Review
Grid Client Alert Decisioning
iList alert details are also supported by SFTP Integration Review Inquiry Batch (RIB), for response file versions 3.0 and higher.
