Associate risk score calculation
Associate risk scores are calculated differently from product application risk scores. For product application risk factor calculations, see About risk factors.
Associate risk factors configured in the risk model are calculated in the following ways:
If an associate risk factor does not return associates of the relevant profile type or role, then the risk score for this risk factor is 0.
We apply 0 instead of Undetermined so that we can still compute total and average risk scores in scenarios where there is no possible input for risk factors. For example, it would not be possible to provide missing data for a risk factor set to find shareholder nationality when the only shareholders are companies.
If a required associate risk factor returns one or more associates of the relevant profile type or role, the risk score for this risk factor is the highest score assigned to those associates. If the value for the risk factor is missing from one or more of those associates, however, then the risk score for this risk factor is Undetermined.
Required associate risk factors with an Undetermined score prevent the computation of the overall application risk score until the relevant data is provided. If the risk factor is determined by running a check, you can go to the relevant task to run the check.
If an optional associate risk factor returns one or more associates of the relevant profile type or role, the risk score for this risk factor is the highest score assigned to the associates that return a value. If the value for the risk factor is missing from one or more associates and the scores assigned to the associates that return a value are negative, or if the value for the risk factor is missing from all returned associates, however, then the risk score for this risk factor is Undetermined.
Optional associate risk factors with an Undetermined score are not included when calculating the overall or average application risk score. If all risk factors are optional and have an Undetermined score, the overall risk score is 0.
