Configuring LexisNexis InstantID
LexisNexis is a data provider that offers InstantID, which you can use to run the Electronic identity check on individuals residing in the United States.
Unlike other data providers for the Electronic identity check, LexisNexis InstantID does not return the number of sources used to match the individual. This means that, a 2+2 result can never be achieved. See the following descriptions to learn what causes the check to return a partial match or pass.
How it works
This is the default behavior of the Electronic identity check, without any configuration options applied, in other words, when address is not a required field, identity number is not a required field, and date of birth is not a required field.
To learn how this default behavior changes when options are applied, see Configuration options.
This check is performed by searching the individual's details, such as name, address, and either date of birth or social security number, in the sources supplied by LexisNexis InstantID.
The check returns a partial match when either of these conditions are true:
The individual's full name and address are matched in one source from LexisNexis InstantID.
The individual's full name, date of birth, and social security number are matched in one source from LexisNexis InstantID.
If the conditions are not met for a partial match, the check fails.
If the individual's profile doesn't have data for the required fields, the check returns an error.
If the individual's address or national identity number has a country other than the US, the check returns an error.
With the default configuration, the check never passes. You can apply the Pass check on 1+1 result configuration option if you would like the check to pass instead of returning a partial match.
If the individual has multiple addresses, the most recent address is used.
If no dates are provided, the address is selected at random. The check will still be run if LexisNexis InstantID determines the address is likely to be a PO box.
Configuration options
You can use the following configuration options:
Use the most recent previous address if the result isn't 1+1: When this option is selected, the individual's most recent address is used to run the check the first time. If the check fails, the check is run again automatically using the next most recent address. The check is only run again automatically once.
When this option is selected, any time the check is run again automatically, you are charged for the second check. If the addresses provided on the individual's profile do not include dates, the addresses used for this check are selected at random.
Address must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result: When this option is selected, the individual's address is required to return a partial match. This means the check only returns a partial match when the individual's full name and address are matched in one source.
Identity number must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result: When this option is selected, the individual's social security number is required for the check to return a partial match.
This means the check only returns a partial match when either of the following conditions are met:
The individual's full name, date of birth, and social security number are matched in one source.
The individual's full name and social security number are matched in one source.
Date of birth must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result: When this option is selected, the individual's date of birth is required for the check to return a partial match.
This means the check only returns a partial match when either of the following conditions are met:
1) The individual's name, date of birth, and social security number are matched in one source.
2) The individual's full name and date of birth are matched in one source.
When the configuration options for Address must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result, Identity number must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result, and Date of birth must match in the source to achieve a 1+1 result are both used, the check only returns a partial match when the individual's full name, address, social security number, and date of birth are matched in one source.

Testing your configuration
Once the check variant is configured, follow these steps in your demo environment to test whether it's working as expected.
Does the check return a partial match?
To run the test, create any individual profile with an address in the United States, and run the check variant. If the check returns a partial match, it's working as expected.
Does the check fail when the conditions are not met for a partial match?
To run the test, create any individual profile with an address in the United States and FAIL as a given name or the surname, such as Alex FAIL Wheeler, and run the check variant. If the check fails, it's working as expected.
The test words are not case-sensitive.
